Cookies...Hobby turned dream! :)

Cookies.... Who knew that just happening upon a cookie blog one day would turn into all of this??

In the spring of 2011, I stumbled upon The Sweet Adventures of Sugarbelle, a blog dedicated to cookie decorating. Now when I say 'cookie decorating' I don't mean just sprinkling some colored sugar or slapping some blob of icing on a cookie. This kind of decorating was....art...edible art. I was immediately drawn in.

So a good friend and I decided we would venture out and start a new found hobby. We researched and read everything possible about this new found obsession.

After lots of 'test' cookies and trying what seemed like a million sugar cookie recipes, my grandmother gave me my great-grandmother's sugar cookie recipe. After one bite of the finished product, I knew we had 'the one!'  I feel like she would be so pleased to know her recipe has taken me so far. :)

So we started making cookies for every occasion and holiday that passed and sometimes even for no reason!

This new found hobby has now consumed me! It has now turned into a passion that I think of constantly! Everything I see around me is a potential cookie idea! I thoroughly enjoy taking orders and creating a cookie that puts a smile on someone's face and leaves them asking, 'How do you do it?'

So after lots of encouragement and lots of prayers and thoughts, Jess Add Sprinkles is here!! Business cards are in the making and orders are being taken as we speak!! I am working on a price sheet and trying to learn this blogging thing, so bear with me! Until then if you have any questions or would like to place an order, you can email me at jrzuber3@gmail.com.

And just so you know Jess Add Sprinkles does more than just sugar cookies! A variety of flavors of cookies, cake balls and pops, and mini and regular cupcakes are our specialty! Many icing flavors are also available on the cupcakes. I'm hoping to have a price list along with what products and flavors are available very soon!

Thank you all in advance for your support and encouragement and most of all the opportunity to create edible art for your special occasion!! :)

Stay tuned!! Great things are in store! :)

I recently had a baby and made these cute "Pregnant Lady" cookies.  I free handed the silhouette and added the pink heart for effect. My sugar cookie recipe has a hint of lemon in it that sets the cookies apart from other sugar cookies.  There is a thin layer of icing that adds a pop of sweetness to every bite!  Perfection!

I made these cookies for my Grandma and I mixed in antique colors with the ivory color Americolor Gel.  These were super simple to make with only two layers of icing.  The centers of flowers are pre-made icing drops with sprinkles.
